Professor to Chair National Committee

University of North Texas Professor Sean Powell, Chair of the Division of Music Education, has been named Chair of the Executive Committee of the Society for Music Teacher Education (SMTE). The appointment was made by National Association for Music Education President and Board Chair Scott R. Sheehan.

Composition Professor Receives Fellowship

Jon Nelson, Professor of Composition, received a University of North Texas Institute for the Advancement for the Arts Faculty Fellowship (IAA) for 2022-2023. The IAA allows faculty members a semester of leave to pursue creative research in the arts to promote artistic and creative expression at UNT.
