Dax Stokes (MM ’01, MS '07) has been named finalist for the American Prize Dale Warland Award in Choral Conducting (none-college division).

The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra announced the appointment of Daniel Wiley (MM ’17) as an Assistant Conductor for the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Cincinnati Pops Orchestra and May Festival.

University of North Texas UNT Alumni Earnest Lamb (PhD ‘05) joined Purchase College, SUNY as Provost and VP for Academic Affairs.

The American Viola Society announced the winner of the 2022 Maurice Gardner Competition for Composers. First Prize was awarded to Daniel Sabzghabaei (BM '14, Honors College), for “Under This Blue of My Land” for viola and voice to be performed at the 2022 AVS Festival and the 47th International Viola Congress.

Founded by University of North Texas alumna, Amanda Eckery (BM ’16, Honors College), El Paso Jazz Girls is recognizing its 5th Anniversary. In an effort to help celebrate, the UNT College of Music recently forwarded nine instruments for their student use.
