Performing Arts Health Graduate Candidate Published

A nationwide study of musician mental health has been published by “Psychology of Music” (Sage Journal). Brian McGoldrick, who is a University of North Texas PhD candidate in Music with a Concentration in Performing Arts Health, studied "College music students during COVID-19: Examining the moderating effect of access to resources and stability of living on the relationship between perceived social support and mental health." The study has been published in collaboration with Aaron Bradetich, current UNT PhD candidate in Research, Measurement, and Statistics at UNT, and Kris Chesky, PhD.

Student Receives Fellowship

Julie Coggiola won an Air Force Diversity Fellowship from the United States Air Force Band and will traveled to Washington D.C. to complete a week-long fellowship with the Airmen of Note. Along with the Fellowship, Julie performed with Airmen of Note in concert on June 7 and 8.

Chamber Group Named Fischoff Quarterfinalist

The University of North Texas Center Woodwind Quintet was named quarterfinalist in the senior wind division of the 51st Annual Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition. The UNT ensemble coached by Associate Professor of Bassoon, Darrel Hale, includes graduate students Di Cao, flute; Hyungju Oh, oboe; Brandon Von, clarinet; Victoria Donaldson, bassoon and Samuel Himes, horn. The Fischoff National Chamber Music Association sponsors this, the United States' largest chamber music competition. UNT joins our friends and colleague programs named quarterfinalists from Northwestern, Arizona State, Michigan State and Indiana Universities along with Civic Orchestra of Chicago.
