Alexis Roelke is an Associate Academic Advisor at the University of North Texas. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree in flute performance from Iowa State University and a Master of Music degree in flute performance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In addition to her role at UNT, Alexis is a co-founder of the outreach-based ensemble, the Metaladera Wind Quintet, and serves as the Director of Artistic Operations for the Lone Star Wind Orchestra.

Alexis is a proud advocate for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) community. Her journey as a DHH artist has deeply influenced her perspective, inspiring her to enhance the educational experience for students through innovative approaches and inclusive practices. Alexis is passionate about breaking barriers and creating opportunities for all students to engage fully with music.

Outside of music, Alexis is an avid Wisconsin sports fan and enjoys a perfect balance of spending time outdoors and at home with her partner, Max, and their two cats.

Alexis’ primary teachers have been Conor Nelson, Sonja Giles, and Kara Swanson.
