Assistant professor of trumpet and member of the Canadian Brass, Caleb Hudson, performed with The Philadelphia Orchestra as they presented Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 2. Nicholas McGegan conducted at Verizon Hall, The Kimmel Cultural Campus in Philadelphia.
University of North Texas Alumna Sarah Canzonetta (BM ’19) joins Glasgow Scotland's Nevis Ensemble as a fellowship recipient for the coming season. Sarah is currently an Artist Diploma Fellow at England's Royal Northern College of Music.
Music education and saxophone major, Luke Vanek, has received the 2021-2022 undergraduate Presser Award. This award, considered the most prestigious undergraduate award in music at the University of North Texas is provided by The Presser Foundation. The recipient “should show a high level of academic and musical accomplishment and embody the qualities of leadership and citizenship. The recipient is one who has grown individually and who has contributed earnestly to the success of the school of music.” Moving forward, the recipient will be referred to as a Presser Scholar.
University of North Texas alumnus Michael Thrasher (MM ’96, DMA ’97), named Dean of the College of Communication and Fine Arts at Troy University.
Grant Harbison, (MM ’10), was recently presented a Milken Educator Award. He is director of bands at The Academies at JHS, Jonesboro, Arkansas. The presentation was part of the Milken Family Foundation’s 35th tour surprising outstanding educators with the award.

Upon basic training completion, Teddy Van Winkle, trombone, will join the USAF Band of the Golden West in Fairfield, California.
Senior, Seth Carter, has been invited to be a featured recitalist at the 2022 The United States Army Band Tuba-Euphonium Conference as a Leonard Falcone International Euphonium and Tuba Festival Artist Division Gold Medalist. Seth is a University of North Texas double major in tuba performance and music education.
