For DMA or Ph.D. Students in the College of Music:

Graduate students pursuing a DMA or Ph.D. in the College of Music may do their related field in vocal performance, pending a successful audition. Interested students must audition for the voice faculty at a time arranged in coordination with the Division Chair. Audition repertoire should be three pieces in the classical style, with at least one piece in English and at least piece one in a language other than English.

Twelve hours, including 6 hours of applied lessons (at the MUAC or MUAM level) and other courses in vocal literature and vocal pedagogy, are required. There is generally no required recital but a regular jury will be taken for every semester of applied vocal study, and the related field professor may require a recital.  Refer to the College of Music Graduate Handbook.
