With the training offered at UNT, pianists can develop their talent and broaden their music knowledge to become a solo guest performer with an orchestra, perform with a smaller group, or learn to be a church musician or recitalist. Many keyboard musicians also teach private lessons in schools or colleges. Generous scholarship support is available for qualified undergraduate piano performance majors.

NEW Faculty Members Join Keyboard Studies in Fall 2026
Éva Polgár, Assistant Professor Piano, holds degrees from the Franz Liszt University, the Sibelius Academy and her DMA from UNT. She is recorded on the Ektro Records, and Hunnia Records labels.
Aram Arakelyan, Assistant Professor of Collaborative Piano (Instrumental Emphasis), holds degrees from the University of Utah in piano performance, the University of Texas at Austin in collaborative piano, and the University of Southern California in keyboard collaborative arts. He comes to UNT from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music where he has been a member of their Chamber and Collaborative Music Department since its inception in 2016.
