Our Instructors

Ms. Jamie Rives is the instructor for the Early Childhood Music Program and will be assisted by two UNT music education majors who have successfully completed a course in Early Childhood music teaching.

Jamie Rives is a Visiting Lecturer of Music Education teaching undergraduate courses in elementary music education and supervising clinical teachers. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Tarleton State University and a master's degree in music education with an emphasis in elementary education and a specialization in Kodaly from Wichita State University.  Prior to her career in higher education, she taught elementary general music in Grapevine Colleyville ISD and Denton ISD, beginning in 2000. 

Currently, Ms. Rives is a mentor teacher for 1-3rd year elementary music teachers in Frisco ISD,  Associate Director of Music for Children and Youth at First United Methodist Church Denton and an adjunct professor at TWU. She regularly presents PD and is an instructional coach in the DFW area.
