Theoria – Historical Aspects of Music Theory is a peer-reviewed journal on all aspects of the history of music theory. It publishes scholarly articles representing the current state of research, editions of newly discovered or mostly unknown theoretical texts with translation and commentary, and review articles on recent secondary literature and textbooks related to the history of music theory.
The journal’s mission is to enhance knowledge on the history of music theory and make it available to students and scholars of any related discipline. Theoria aims to provide a platform of scholarly discourse guided by the highest academic and ethical standards.
