About

The UNT String Project is an accessible community music program that offers string instrument instruction for violin, viola, cello, and double bass. String Project features a variety of classes in the Fall and Spring semesters, ranging from beginner classes that welcome students to the world of string playing to intermediate and advanced chamber orchestra ensembles that challenge young musicians to reach new heights. This program is designed to support and supplement school orchestra instruction through small class sizes, optional and affordable private lessons, and personalized educational experiences that meet each student where they are. String Project values and appreciates the innate musicianship of all children so that they may develop a healthy relationship to music for the rest of their lives.

As a member of the National String Project Consortium, the UNT String Project is dedicated to the dual mission of preparing tomorrow's string educators while providing accessible string instruction opportunities for youth and adults. String Project is committed to cultivating new generations of highly qualified string instrument music educators by offering vibrant and culturally diverse string instrument education opportunities for students of all ages.
