Everyone who are in the current UNT Orchestral Studies database should have RECEIVED AN EMAIL WITH YOUR AUDITION PLACEMENT OR INFORMATION REGARDING EITHER SYMPHONY OR CONCERT ORCHESTRA.

Upon receipt, make sure that:

(1) You check your UNT emails more thoroughly. Send an email to Orchestral Studies Personnel Manager, Ko-Te Chen (Ko-TeChen@my.unt.edu) if you have not received an email with your timeslots by noon of August 17, 2026. Auditioning students MUST keep both ensemble times open until orchestral assignments are made. Ensemble assignments are made without reference to pre-existing commitments outside of UNT. 

(2) Your UNT email is updated in the personnel database. If you have received a recent email regarding updating your UNT email in the database, send an email ASAP to Ko-Te Chen containing your full name and your UNT email address. IMPORTANT: All orchestra-related communications will only be sent to your UNT email once the classes start (August 17, 2026). Please make sure you update it before then.

(3) You enroll in the right orchestra class. Once you determine your placements, enroll in the right section ASAP.

For undergraduates, enroll in:

  • MULB 1805.500 (Symphony Orchestra - MWF 2:30-4:20 PM)
  • MULB 1805.501 (Concert Orchestra - MWF 12:20-2:20 PM)
  • MULB 1805.502 (Undergraduate Harp Students only)
  • MULB 1805.505 (Sinfonietta Orchestra - T 4:30-5:50PM; Th 4:30-6:20PM)

For graduate students, enroll in:

  • MULB 5172.500 (Symphony Orchestra - MWF 2:30-4:20 PM)
  • MULB 5172.501 (Concert Orchestra - MWF 12:20-2:20 PM)
  • MULB 5172.502 (Harp Students only)
