American Choral Directors Association (ACDA)

The UNT ACDA Chapter is a professional organization dedicated to fostering the next generation of choral conductors and educators. It provides student members with opportunities for professional development, networking, and hands‑on experience in conducting, repertoire, and choral leadership outside the traditional classroom.
 

Composers Forum of North Texas

A student-led organization that represents the interests of UNT composers, the Forum promotes the visibility of new student works both on campus and at regional and state institutions. It coordinates performances of new compositions and supports a culture of shared learning across instrumental, vocal, electroacoustic, film, and intermedia composition.
 

Graduate Association of Musicologists und Theorists (GAMuT)

GAMuT provides a forum for the presentation of original research by graduate students in musicology and theory. The organization offers professional development, fosters discussion of academic issues, serves as a liaison between students and faculty, publishes the graduate journal Harmonia, and hosts an annual graduate student conference.
 

Kappa Kappa Psi College and University Bands Fraternity

Kappa Kappa Psi is a fraternal organization that promotes the advancement of college and university bands through dedicated service and support to bands, comprehensive education, leadership opportunities, and recognition for the benefit of its members and society.


Mean Green Guitar Guild (MGGG)

MGGG enriches guitar studies at UNT through masterclasses, performances by internationally renowned artists, and support for student travel to competitions. The guild cultivates a vibrant and engaged community of classical guitarists.
 

Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) – Collegiate Chapter

The MTNA Collegiate Chapter supports and shapes young music teachers by providing opportunities for networking and professional growth, helping future educators strengthen their teaching careers and connections nationwide.
 

North Texas Music Educators Association (NTMEA)

NTMEA connects music education majors with peers and professionals through volunteer events, TMEA-style clinics, and service opportunities such as instrument petting zoos for local schools. Meetings include presentations from experts, student-led discussions on emerging topics, and online resources for local programs.
 

Sigma Alpha Iota (SAI)

Sigma Alpha Iota is an international music fraternity whose purpose is to foster interest in music and promote camaraderie among talented women and nonbinary musicians. SAI supports music education, performance, composition, and theory across local and national communities.
 

Trombones of North Texas (TNT)

TNT serves the trombone and wider musical community by organizing masterclasses, hosting guest artists, offering peer support, and fostering community within the UNT trombone studio.
 

UpFront!

UpFront! is a peer-led choir comprised of all choral music education majors. The ensemble offers upper‑division students opportunities to conduct and teach before student teaching. Members participate in community performances, mentoring, collaborations with local schools, professional travel, and tutoring in music theory and aural skills.
 

Viola Student Association

The Viola Student Association provides a dedicated community for violists through performances, coaching, mentorship, and professional opportunities, strengthening connections within the UNT College of Music.
 

Women Band Directors International (WBDI)

The UNT chapter of WBDI is the only campus organization dedicated to supporting and advancing women band directors. It fosters awareness of the challenges faced by women in the field and provides a supportive, inclusive community open to members of all gender identities.
