What is SSENT?

SSENT (The Student Society for Ethnomusicology at North Texas) is a student organization dedicated to the study of Ethnomusicology at the University of North Texas. The mission of SSENT is to promote a diversified understanding of music making in cultures around the world through education, service, and performance at UNT.

SSENT provides professional development opportunities and avenues for ethnomusicology students to connect with the broader DFW community. SSENT also offers a forum of support and discussion of matters relevant to the academic and musical lives of the UNT ethnomusicology student community, the students in the BA in Critical Studies in Music and Society (BA-CSMS) program, and between departments in the College of Music.
