UNT Jazz Ensembles
The North Texas Jazz is renowned for its diverse and dynamic ensemble offerings, providing students with unparalleled opportunities to develop their skills and perform in a variety of settings. Lab Bands
Our lab bands are the cornerstone of the instrumental jazz program, featuring multiple big bands that challenge students to excel in ensemble performance. From the prestigious One O’Clock Lab Band, known for its Grammy nominations and international tours, to the Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, and Seven O’Clock Lab Bands, each group offers a unique experience and repertoire. These bands perform regularly, showcasing the talents of our students and the rich tradition of jazz at UNT.
Vocal Ensembles
The UNT Jazz Singers, our premier vocal jazz ensemble, along with other groups like Avenue C, Third Street, and West End, provide vocalists with the opportunity to explore intricate harmonies and innovative arrangements. These ensembles have earned accolades at national and international festivals, reflecting the high standards and creative spirit of our vocal jazz program.
Specialized Ensembles
