General Information

Repertoire

Repertoire will be shared via email approximately 2–3 weeks before the event. Please contact greenbrigade@unt.edu if you need help accessing the materials.

Please print and distribute all music to your students in advance. Please ensure that all students have their own flip folder and lyre. There will be no music stands available for rehearsal or performance.

Front Ensemble

Due to lack of space, we are unable to accommodate high school front ensemble equipment for the mass band performance. Front ensemble members should bring a battery instrument to perform on.

Color Guard

Color guard choreography videos will be shared via email approximately 1–2 weeks before the event. Please contact greenbrigade@unt.edu if you need help accessing the materials.

Color guard members should bring their own flag.

Drum Majors

Drum majors from each band will be placed around the perimeter of the field to assist with conducting the mass band performance. Please bring a step stool or ladder that can be easily moved and deployed (full-size podiums not recommended). Drum majors are responsible for setting up their own equipment.

Uniform

Please wear your band’s version of a “summer uniform,” e.g. band T-shirt, shorts, and athletic/marching shoes. The Green Brigade will be wearing their summer uniform (athletic shirt and shorts). Please follow the weather forecast and dress accordingly - no full marching uniforms!

Weather Considerations

Students should bring their own half gallon or larger water jugs. Refill stations will be available throughout the day.

Hats and sunglasses are highly recommended for rehearsal, walking across campus, and sitting in the stands. During the game, the band sits on the Visitors side of the stadium, which will be in the sun until approximately 7:30pm.

In the event of inclement weather, each school is responsible for providing their own ponchos/rain gear for their students.

Gameday Information

Parking

School buses may park in Lot 20 (Orange Lot). There will be signs indicating which part of the lot is assigned to High School Band Day participants (likely the far west side of the lot). Upon the arrival, tell the attendants that you are here for High School Band Day and then follow instructions. Buses may drop off students in front of the Murchison Performing Arts Center before parking if permitted by parking attendants.

For more information, including parking information for non-chaperone parents attending as spectators, visit the DATCU Stadium parking website here.

Equipment storage

There is no equipment storage available for High School Band Day participants. Try to leave as many items on the buses as possible. Students should carry everything they need with them for the entire day. Students will be allowed to carry cases into DATCU Stadium for rehearsal and the game.

Tickets

Band students, directors/staff, and chaperones receive free entry to the game and will be given wristbands upon arrival.

Parents who are not chaperoning must purchase tickets from UNT Athletics. A special discounted ticket link will be emailed to band directors to distribute to their parents.

Stadium information

Restrooms are located throughout DATCU stadium.

First Aid and emergency services are available at various locations throughout DATCU stadium. Directors and parent chaperones are responsible for any of their students’ medical needs.

Concessions are available throughout DATCU stadium. It is up to individual directors whether to allow students to purchase concessions and souvenirs.

Clear bag policy

DATCU Stadium has a clear bag policy. High School Band Day participants are usually exempt from this policy, but please leave all unnecessary belongings and cases on the bus.

For parents attending the game separately, view the DATCU Stadium clear bag policy here.
