VOCAL JAZZ SCHOLARSHIP ANNOUNCED: The College of Music announces its first-ever scholarship endowment in Vocal Jazz. The grant made to the Division of Jazz Studies is from the Ella Fitzgerald Charitable Foundation.
ALUMNA/CURRENT STUDENT AWARDED: Raylin Hooks (BM '19) and current MM student, received the Stanley Drucker Award by François Kloc, Buffet Crampon CEO who presented her with a Tradition clarinet.
His PhD is in music education with a piano pedagogy emphasis.

FACULTY IN PITTSBURGH: Assistant Professor and tenor, William Joyner sang the role of Siegmund while Professor Jonathan Eaton, the UNT Margot and Bill Winspear Chair in Opera Studies, directed Pittsburgh Festival Opera's production of Wagner’s “The Valkyrie.”
ALUMNA HONOR: Lindsay Pope (DMA '19) was recently honored with the 2019 Toulouse Dissertation Award in the Fine Arts field. "You were nominated by the Division of Conducting and Ensembles and selected by a university-wide faculty committee... the standard for this award reflects a rather high bar..."
