In July 2023, William Karceski became the Program Project Specialist for Community Engagement and Collaboration for the College of Music’s Music in the City initiative, a virtual private-music-lesson program (VPML) for students in Dallas ISD. Prior to his appointment in this role, Karceski operated a successful private studio for several years throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth area comprised of students from Denton, Frisco and Northwest school districts.

William holds a master of music from Yale University, where in addition to his focus on trombone performance, he expanded his experience in arts administration and music education with his work in the Music in Schools Initiative and the School of Music concert office. William earned his bachelor of music from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music in 2019. During his time at Indiana University, William was selected as the winner of the concerto competition in 2018, and earned a performer’s certificate for his senior recital, among other performance-related achievements. Alongside his performance accolades, he placed great value on his academic growth within Project Jumpstart, a program that nurtures entrepreneurial thoughts and actions among Jacobs’ students.

Outside of his role at the College of Music, William maintains an active teaching and performing schedule. In his free time, he enjoys baking and cooking, playing games, and spending time with his partner and two cats.
