Student Health and Wellness Center

(SHWC)

The Student Health and Wellness Center is the on-campus medical clinic for UNT students. The clinic offers treatment for injuries, illnesses, and other medical issues with convenient access to on-site laboratory testing, x-rays, and pharmacy services.

Resources

The Meadows Center for Health Resources promotes overall well-being of UNT students through education of the nine dimensions of wellness. These include physical, environmental, intellectual, financial, social, cultural, spiritual and emotional.

SHWC Pharmacy

The Student Health and Wellness Center Pharmacy is a state-owned, fully-licensed pharmacy. All eligible students, faculty and staff, with a UNT ID card, may use the SHWC Pharmacy.

UNT Recreational Sports

UNT Recreational Sports promotes student’s health by offering intramural sports, outdoor pursuits, and fitness classes. Students also have access to the Pohl Recreation Center which includes exercise equipment, a pool, and sporting spaces.

Speak OUT UNT

Speak Out is UNT’s mental health awareness campaign aimed at getting the campus community involved in the national fight to remove the stigma that surrounds mental illness and suicide. The organization also connects those in need with available resources so they can get help early and often.

Collegiate Recovery Program

The Collegiate Recovery Program offers peer-driven recovery support for students seeking or in long-term recovery from mental illness, substance use, and/or process addictions.

CARE Team

The CARE Team is a collaborative interdisciplinary committee of university officials that meets regularly to provide a response to students, staff, and faculty whose behavior could be harmful to themselves or others.

SURE Program

The Substance Use Resource and Education Program at UNT will use research-backed evidence to provide both individual and group level education regarding drugs and alcohol. The services employed by SURE will encourage healthy decision-making skills and personal responsibility, in an effort to reduce the harmful effects of substance use.

The Office of Disability Access helps students learn more about their disabilities, develop techniques to facilitate individual learning styles, learn how to talk to faculty and staff about their needs and develop strategies to achieve their goals.
