Jessica Muñiz

Jessica Muñiz is a music career consultant, producer/composer, author and assistant professor of music business at the University of North Texas. As founder and owner of Nizco Music, she helps musicians build sustainable, purpose-driven careers through her B.E.A.T. framework: business, education/entrepreneurship, artist development and technology. Through consulting and educational programming, she supports artists in navigating an increasingly complex music industry while staying connected to their creative goals. 

Muñiz serves as a board governor for the Recording Academy's Texas Chapter and co-chair of its education committee. She is also a GRAMMY® and Latin GRAMMY® voting member. Her industry leadership extends to board service with the College Music Society and the Music & Entertainment Industry Educators Association, as well as serving as an educator ambassador for the Mechanical Licensing Collective and a member of the education committee for the Music Business Association. She was nominated for the 2024 Music Business Educator of the Year Award by the Music Business Association. 

Muñiz is an internationally sought-after speaker on music career sustainability and artist entrepreneurship. She has presented at conferences, universities and industry events around the world, helping musicians and educators develop practical strategies for long-term success. Her book, "Establishing a Portfolio Career in the Music Industry: Find Your B.E.A.T.," provides a roadmap for building a thriving music career by leveraging multiple skills, income streams and professional opportunities. 

As a producer/composer and percussionist, Muñiz has collaborated with Grammy-nominated musicians and internationally acclaimed artists. Her music has been featured by production companies and music libraries including MundoFox, Univision, PBS, IMAX and Universal Production Music. A published and commissioned composer, her works have been performed nationally and internationally, and she has contributed as a sound designer for theater and dance productions. Her work has been highlighted in Music Connection, Digital Drummer, Jazz Education in Research and Practice and Percussive Notes magazine.
