Jamie Rives is a Visiting Lecturer of Music Education at the University of North Texas where she teaches undergraduate courses in elementary music, coordinates the Early Childhood Music Program and is a Field Supervisor for Clinical Teachers. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Tarleton State University and a master’s degree in Music Education with an Elementary Emphasis and Kodaly Specialization from Wichita State University.
Ms. Rives taught elementary music in Denton ISD for 13 years where she presented Professional Development and served on the curriculum team as lead curriculum writer and lead elementary music teacher. Prior to working in Denton ISD, she taught elementary music in Grapevine Colleyville ISD.
Currently, Ms. Rives is a mentor teacher for 1-3rd year elementary music teachers in Frisco ISD, Associate Director of Music for Children and Youth at First United Methodist Church Denton and an adjunct at TWU. She regularly presents PD and is an instructional coach in the DFW area.
