James Rayle joined the staff at the University of North Texas in 2024. Prior to moving to Denton, Mr. Rayle worked at Meridian Winds as one of the shops clarinet specialists and machinists. In addition to servicing many clients, ranging from beginner to professional, across Michigan, he has done major body restorative work for clients across the country. James began his repair journey during his master’s degree as an apprentice in the UNT Repair Shop under Ann MacMillan. Following his graduation, continued learning and honing his skills at Meridian Winds under Sarah Hardaker-Ellul, Samuel Lock, and Gary Beem. He holds a master’s degree in clarinet performance from the University of North Texas, as well as a bachelor’s degree in clarinet performance from Eastern Michigan University.
