Debbie Rohwer

Debbie Rohwer has been a music education faculty member at UNT since 1997. She is a Regents Professor whose primary research area is adult music making. Debbie is the founder and director of the Denton New Horizons Band, 2026 Editor for the "International Journal of Community Music," and Chair Elect for the National Association for Music Education's (nafme) Adult and Community Music Education Special Research Interest Group. For the University of North Texas, Debbie has served as Chair of the Division of Music Education (2004-2017), Vice President for Planning (2019-2024), and in fall 2026 she begins serving as Chair of the Division of Conducting & Ensembles.
