Double bass alumni have achieved great successes in orchestral positions recently.

Across the world, six UNT double bass alumni have recently been appointed to orchestras. Ian Grems (BM ’20, MM ‘22) was appointed to the Turku Philharmonic, Finland; Aaron Olguin (BM ‘16, MM ‘18) appointed to the NDR Elbphilharmonie, Hamburg, Germany; Ricardo Puche (MM ’23, GAC ‘25) appointed to New World Symphony; John Cleere (MM ‘19) appointed principal bass of Nova Scotia Symphony, Canada; Harry Dearman (BM ‘20) appointed to Vancouver Symphony, Canada and Josh Lambert (MM ’20, DMA-ABD) appointed to Helsinki Filharmonie, Finland.
