The Modfestivals Marktoberdorf 19th International Chamber Choir Competition, held in Marktoberdorf, Bavaria, announced the University of North Texas A Cappella choir, conducted by Allen Hightower, as 1st Prize winner of the competition for being "excellent at an international level." They also received a special prize of the Walter & Charlotte Hamel Foundation for "particularly outstanding and characteristic vocal presentation and flexibility of vocal style."
