The University of North Texas College of Music was well represented at the 67th Grammy Awards, with faculty and alumni winning six awards on Sunday, February 2, 2025.

67th Grammy Award WinnersAlumna Norah Jones won in the category of "Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album" for her newest record, "Visions." Her most recent award makes her a ten-time Grammy winner. She was recipient of the 2016 UNT Presidential Medal of Honor, the highest university honor given.

There were three UNT affiliate winners associated with the "Best Large Jazz Ensemble Album" winner, "Bianca Reimagined: Music for Paws and Persistence," recorded by the Dan Pugach Big Band. Guitarist Pete McCann (BM '89) and trumpeter Stuart Mack (BM '15) performed on the album, and the album was released on the record label "Outside in Music," helmed by Associate Professor of Jazz Trombone Nick Finzer.

Also an affiliate winner, Associate Professor of Jazz Violin Scott Tixier was a featured soloist on Jon Batiste's "American Symphony," the winner for "Best Music Film."

In the category of "Best Melodic Rap Performance," UNT alumnus Jemarcus Uriah Bridges was an affiliate winner as a producer of "3:AM" by Rapsody. The track features Dallas' own Erykah Badu.
