As part of the Dave Matthews Band, three-time GRAMMY winning and nine-time nominated saxophonist and UNT alumnus Jeff Coffin (BM ’90), was inducted to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. College of Music Professor and Dean John W. Richmond said, “I could not be more pleased to learn of UNT College of Music alumnus Jeff Coffin’s induction tomorrow into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Jeff has been an amazing and consequential saxophonist and composer for years. His impact across many musical genres is rare and so impressive, resulting in Recording Academy / GRAMMYs Awards and coveted other accolades. Jeff’s induction as a member of the Dave Matthews Band is yet another glorious affirmation of his career, his achievements, and his reputation in the music industry. We are so thrilled for him and proud of him!” The ceremony was televised October 19, 2024 live on Disney+.
