Laura Russell serves as the Administrative Coordinator for Music History/Theory/Ethnomusicology (MHTE), Music Education and Composition Studies divisions. She returned to the College of Music in 2021 where she was previously the Administrative Assistant to Development and Academic Affairs 2005-2008.

Laura received her Bachelor of Arts from The University of North Texas and is a former student of the College of Music. She was an active member of Sigma Alpha Iota, Iota Theta chapter at UNT, and has been a member of the Denton Alumnae Chapter of SAI.

Laura is an active advocate in the Denton public school system serving in the Parent Teacher Association (PTA), booster clubs, Student Health and Advisory Committee parent representative, and volunteering on several campuses. She also sings on her church praise team. She and her husband, Eddy, are raising two children and two dogs.
