Laura Russell

Laura Russell serves as the Administrative Coordinator for the Music History, Theory, and Ethnomusicology (MHTE), Music Education, and Composition Studies divisions in the College of Music. She returned to the college in 2021, having previously served as the Administrative Assistant to Development and Academic Affairs from 2005 to 2008.

Laura holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Texas and is a former student of the College of Music. During her time at UNT, she was an active member of the Sigma Alpha Iota, Iota Theta chapter, and she continues her involvement as a member of the Denton Alumnae Chapter of SAI.

A dedicated community advocate, Laura is actively involved in the Denton public school system through her service in the Parent Teacher Association (PTA), booster clubs, and as a parent representative on the Student Health and Advisory Committee. She volunteers regularly across multiple campuses and also lends her voice as a member of her church’s praise team. Laura and her husband, Eddy, are proud parents of two children.
