Debbie Rohwer is Regents Professor of Music Education and serves as Vice President for Planning and Chief of Staff. Dr. Rohwer received her bachelor’s degree at Northwestern University, her master’s degree at the Eastman School of Music, and her Ph.D. degree at the Ohio State University. In 1997, Dr. Rohwer founded the Denton New Horizons Senior Citizen Beginning Band. She currently serves as conductor, administrator, and arranger for the band. In her research, Dr. Rohwer has concentrated on skill learning of musicians at various experience levels. She has been published in numerous research journals, and serves on state and international research review boards.  Currently, Dr. Rohwer serves as the lead editor for Update: Applications of Research in Music Education.
