Brian Walker is Associate Professor of Trumpet having previously taught at Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas. As well, Dr. Walker has taught at Southeastern Oklahoma State University, the University of North Texas and Florida State University as well as privately in the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas Metroplex. His students have been accepted into many undergraduate and graduate music programs throughout the United States.

He holds degrees from the University of North Texas (DMA), Florida State University (MM) and Southeastern Oklahoma State University (BM). His primary teachers include Michael Miles, Iskander Akhmadullin, Christopher Moore, John Holt, Keith Johnson and Adam Gordon.

As a performer he has appeared with many groups in the Dallas/Fort Worth region including (but not limited to) the Dallas Wind Symphony, Dallas Opera, Plano, Allen, Arlington, Las Colinas, Irving, Garland and Dallas chamber orchestras. He has also had the opportunity to perform with the UNT Symphony Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra. While at Florida State, Walker performed with the Tallahassee, Pensacola and New World symphonies to name a few. As a soloist, he has given recitals in Texas, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Georgia and Florida in the United States and Mytilene, Greece, São Paulo, Brazil and has performed throughout France.

Walker is active in the International Trumpet Guild as a contributor in the Music Review section of the ITG Journal. He is also an artist and clinician for the Bach division of the Conn-Selmer Corporation.
