Complete Vocal Institute: Teacher Training Intensive
June 15-30, 2026
Are you a singing teacher, vocal coach, choral/musical theatre director, speech language
pathologist, or university-level voice professor looking to expand your technical
and pedagogical toolkit — or a singer seeking deeper mastery and teaching fluency?
This summer, for the first time in the U.S., Denmark’s renowned Complete Vocal Institute (CVI) partners with UNT’s College of Music to offer the first three seminars of CVI’s internationally respected 3-Year CVT Singer/Teacher Diploma Course.
Join an immersive, hands-on, and practice-driven intensive designed to equip you with
a robust, research-grounded vocal technique and immediately applicable teaching strategies. Whether you work in classical voice, CCM, jazz, metal, or musical theatre, this
course offers the tools to help you teach — and sing — more effectively.
This summer intensive delivers a transformative learning experience that bridges scientific insight with practical application — all in a collaborative and inclusive environment.

What You Will Learn
- Comprehensive Introduction to Complete Vocal Technique (CVT)
Understand CVT’s foundational concepts and how it systematically organizes all human
vocal sounds. Gain clarity on how CVT is structured — and why it’s trusted by educators,
clinicians, and artists worldwide.
- Vocal Modes & Sound Colors
Learn to identify and produce the four CVT modes, and explore how differences in density, sound color, and “metal” help singers safely navigate vocal shifts across genres and styles.
- Personal Vocal Development & Applied Singing
Work with a pianist to refine your own voice in real time. Receive tailored feedback
in musical context, building your vocal confidence alongside technical understanding.
- Pedagogical Tools & Individualized Teaching
Explore how to assess learning styles, recognize common vocal challenges, and adjust
your approach. CVT’s versatility equips you to teach across classical, CCM, rock/metal,
musical theatre, and jazz with clarity and confidence.
- Auditory Training & Rapid Vocal Assessment
Sharpen your ability to perceive subtle vocal details — density, color, metal— to
help you diagnose and resolve technical issues swiftly and effectively.
- Voice Science, Vocal Health & Anatomy
Deepen your understanding of vocal physiology (including laryngeal anatomy) and evidence-based
voice production. Learn safe, sustainable technique rooted in the ongoing research tradition of CVI.
- Practice Strategies & Long-Term Development
Gain tools for structuring efficient, sustainable practice for yourself and your students
— building muscle memory and long-term vocal growth.
- Research Integration & Pedagogical Reflection
Engage with current voice-science research to understand not just how to teach with CVT, but why it works. Elevate your pedagogy with critical thinking and research-informed insight.
