Students with minimal or no piano skills should enroll in the first semester skills class, MUAG 1011. Music majors interested in being considered for placement in a higher level piano course should follow the instructions below. Placement exams can now be done online with a computer/iPad and digital keyboard.

  1. Consult this document to determine if you need to take the piano placement examination.
  2. If you answered "yes" to the questions in the document above:
    • login to Piano Marvel and take the SASR test.
    • OR if you prefer to take your placement exam in person, exams will be administered August 13, 2024 between 10am and noon. Sign up for a time at this link.
