Ensemble Fantasmi is a distinguished baroque chamber ensemble within UNT’s College of Music, known for its captivating performances and dedication to historically informed music practice. Under the expert direction of Paul Leenhouts, a celebrated recorder virtuoso and early music specialist, the ensemble brings to life the rich and intricate sounds of the Baroque era.

Our ensemble is composed of talented musicians who specialize in period instruments, including the baroque violin, viola, violoncello, contrabass, arch-lute, guitar, harpsichord, and recorder. This unique instrumentation allows us to authentically recreate the music of composers such as Telemann, Vivaldi, and Biber, offering audiences an immersive and historically accurate musical experience.
