STRING AUDITION REPERTOIRE FOR FALL, 2013
UNT Orchestral Studies consists of two ensembles:
UNT Symphony Orchestra & UNT Concert Orchestra.
Students should be prepared to play excerpts from the “A” LIST or “B” LIST explained below. Excerpt material will be available online at http://music.unt.edu/orchestra/audition.html by July 1, 2013. Students do NOT have to prepare a solo work for the audition.
Beginning August 1, 2013, ALL String and Harp students will be assigned an audition time (posted on this page) and required to complete an online audition form. If you do not find your name on the audition schedule, please contact Dami Baek, Orchestral Studies Personnel Manager, at dami.baek@gmail.com or 254-537-2117 to sign-up for an audition time.

“A” LIST
The “A” list is to be played by all students that fall into one or more of the following categories: (1) returning UNT students who have ever played in the Symphony Orchestra, (2) graduate students, or (3) performance majors. This list is also for all students that fall outside all three categories, except those that determine, in consultation with their applied instructor, that the “A” list is too challenging. Students playing the “A” list will be considered for assignment to Symphony Orchestra or Concert Orchestra.
“B” LIST
The “B” list is to be played by all incoming and returning UNT students who have determined the “A” list is too challenging. Students choosing to play the “B” list will be considered for assignment to Concert Orchestra only.
