COM Computer Lab Printing Policies:

  1. Printing will be provided ONLY to UNT students in support of academic research and creation relating to student course work.
  2. Because of recently acquired Music Technology Fees there is no longer a limit on the amount of music related material music students can print in support of their academic research. (Multiple copies are still prohibited)
  3. Music TFs are now allowed to print a single copy of instructional materials needed for teaching classes.  Multiple copies are still prohibited and all duplication of print outs should be made through the Music Copy Room which is free to all TFs.
  4. Printing of generic online materials not created by the student or not related to music research is limited to 20 pages.
  5. Students are responsible for knowing how many pages a document, including Internet pages, contains BEFORE the print job is executed and be aware that the size of job can effect when it is released in the queue.
  6. Students are not allowed to make flyers or signs unless they are directly related to UNT course work. Proof is required. A single copy only is permitted. Duplications must be made elsewhere.
  7. Multiple copies of the same print job are not allowed. Print jobs are considered the same if most of the original printed page is intact. The print server automatically deletes any Job that is requesting multiple copies in the patrons print window.
  8. The Computer Lab does not provide printing resources for students to make mandatory physical copies of class/degree materials given to them in a digital format. This includes online scores, worksheets, handbooks, syllabus, manuals or other documents. The class instructor or division must provide required class-wide hard copy materials via the Copy Room.
  9. Lab Managers have the authority to restrict printing and/or lab access for any patron who abuses printing policies.
  10. Lab Managers have the authority to grant special printing requests.
