The Murchison Performing Arts Center, now in its eleventh complete season, is home to the renowned University of North Texas College of Music. Located in Denton, Texas, the facility is host to world-class performances by students, faculty, guest artists and community members. The Murchison Performing Arts Center features two premiere venues: the Margot and Bill Winspear Performance Hall and the Lyric Theater.
This season will he highlighted by amazing performances featuring artists from UNT and around the world. On September 30th, as part of the UNT Fine Arts Series, the UNT Symphony Orchestra along Van Cilburn competition finalist Mariangela Vacatella will perform works by Chávez, Liszt and Franck under the baton of director David Itkin. On October 16th, the College of Music and the UNT Fine Arts Series is proud to present the, under the direction of Jaap van Zweeden the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and the Dallas Symphony Chorus performing Beethoven's Ninth Symphony. The UNT Opera department will produce Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro on November 6, 8, 13 and 15th. The One O'Clock Lab Band will also be performing in November, with guest artist John Mosca.
