Welcome to the University of North Texas Clarinet Studios, a thriving, diverse community of performers and educators dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in all endeavors. Our students come from throughout the United States and from around the world.
We are exceedingly proud of our students' achievements. UNT Clarinetists won first and third prize winners in the 2019 and 2020 International Clarinet Association Young Artist Competitions; Silver Medal in the 2020 Young Texas Artists Music Competition; and First Prize in the Victoria Bach Festival Competition. UNT students have participated in a variety of summer music festivals including the Aspen Music Festival; Eighth Blackbird Lab, the AIMS/Graz Festival (Austria), the Hot Springs Music Festival, the Rocky Ridge Music Festival, and the Selmer Summer Academy, and the Buffet Clarinet Academy among many others; our graduates fill university teaching positions through the U.S.; our clarinet graduates are members of the Marine, Navy and Air Force Bands in Washington, D.C. along with the West Point Band and numerous other such bands around the world; our clarinet graduates fill prominent positions in the music industry with companies such as Yamaha and D'Addario.
UNT undergraduate and graduate clarinetist Music Education graduates have a 100% job placement rate.
