Hee Yun Kim has degrees from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (DMA, 2008), Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Krakow, Poland (Kwalifikacje I Stopnia-doctoral diploma, 2003), and Seoul National University (MM, 1997; BM, 1994). Composition studies with Erik Lund, Marek Stachowski, Sukhi Kang and Chung-Gil Kim. Interests in timbral/textural richness, orchestration, text setting, creative collaboration across art forms, and exploring different musical aesthetics from the world. UNT appointment: 2022.
