Jury Instructions

General Instructions

1. Review any division-specific details below
2. Sign up for a jury time. See Scheduling below.
3. Download and complete your Division's repertoire form. See below
4. Verify your repertoire with your instructor (signature or checkbox).
5. Bring your signed jury form to your jury (Voice students: upload your repertoire form in Canvas prior to your jury)

These steps must be completed prior to your jury or it will not be graded.

       Types of Juries

       • MUAM — (For performance majors only) Petition for Acceptance and Continuance in Applied Music

         Instruction to the Jury: The jury is composed of a minimum of 3 faculty members. As an integral part of each jury examination, a repertory list MUST be submitted by the student and certified by the major teacher. The report of the jury will be given to the Dean by the jury chair. In all cases the decision of the jury is final. Evidence of continuing maturity in technical, musical and performing skills must be demonstrated in the jury at the conclusion of each long semester. Students who do not meet these requirements must be advised of their deficiencies by their applied instructor, Area Coordinator or Division Chair as is appropriate.

       Results

       Each Division has a specific rubric for grading juries. Your instructor will have more information. Jury results will be forwarded to instructors after all juries are completed in your area. Contact your instructor to review jury comments and grades. In some cases, Divisions have chosen for comments to be anonymous.
