Andre Feagin

T. Andre´ Feagin is a conducting student of Eugene Migliaro Corporon, and a doctoral conducting associate in the College of Music at the University of North Texas.  At UNT, his duties include guest conducting all bands, teaching fundamentals of conducting and assisting with athletic bands.
Mr. Feagin holds a master of music degree in instrumental wind conducting from the University of Memphis and a bachelor of music degree in clarinet performance. Prior to his arrival at UNT, Mr. Feagin, a Golden Apple Teacher award winner, served as director of bands at Watkins Overton High School for the Creative and Performing Arts in Memphis, TN.  Under his leadership, the band program consistently received superior ratings and grand championships nationally in the areas of concert and marching band. 
As a conductor, he has made appearances in over fifteen states, and made his professional conducting debut in 2004 with the United States Air Force Band of Mid-America.  He is a past winner of the National Band Association Young Conductors Mentor Project. His former mentors include Kraig A. Williams, James Gholson, Denise Gainey and Steve Cohen. He continues to be in high demand as a guest conductor and travels regularly as a clinician and lecturer throughout the United States.
Mr. Feagin is also an active clinician, program coordinator, adjudicator and music arranger for some of the countries finest high school, drum corps, and university band programs.  Mr. Feagin is in his second year as a staff member of the United States Army All-American Band sponsored by MENC. In addition, he is in his third year as brass caption head for the six-time world champion Santa Clara Vanguard Drum and Bugle Corps from Santa Clara, CA.  In 2007 he served as executive director, brass caption head, brass arranger and program coordinator for the Division III World Champion Memphis Sound Drum and Bugle Corps. In addition to winning the visual, high brass and percussion captions, Drum Corps International named him Division III Director of the year. Prior to his appointment at Memphis Sound, he served on the brass faculty for the Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps from Fort Mill, SC.  He is a former four-year conductor of the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps and a past recipient of the Drum Corps International Jim Jones Leadership Award.
Mr. Feagin maintains active memberships in the Music Educators National Association, National Band Association and the College Band Directors National Association.

 

 

David Robinson

David D. Robinson is a Doctoral Conducting Associate at the University of North Texas, where he assists with all aspects of the Wind Studies area.  He is a conducting student of Eugene Migliaro Corporon, and a past conducting student of Thomas J. O'Neal. Mr. Robinson also currently serves as assistant conductor of the Dallas-based Lone Star Wind Orchestra.

Mr. Robinson holds the bachelor of music education degree in Instrumental Music from Arkansas State University and the master of music in Wind Band Conducting from the University of Missouri.  His teaching experience includes positions in the Wynne and Jonesboro public schools of Arkansas, both recipients of the Arkansas School Band and Orchestra Association’s sweepstakes trophy during his tenure.  He has been active as a guest clinician for bands throughout both Arkansas and Missouri and has served as director of the Arkansas State University Drum Major Camp, where he taught conducting, marching fundamentals and leadership training. Mr. Robinson is also active as a composer, arranger and performer.  His saxophone quartet, Fantasy on St. James, was premiered at the 2005 American School Band Directors Association's national convention by the Marion (AR) High School Saxophone Quartet.  More recently, Mr. Robinson was a member of the University of Missouri's Contreras Saxophone Quartet, national finalists in the 2008 Music Teachers National Association’s chamber music competition.
Mr. Robinson is a contributing author in the Teaching Music Through Performance in Band series.  His professional memberships include the College Band Directors National Association, Pi Kappa Lambda National Music Honor Society and an honorary membership in Kappa Kappa Psi National Band Fraternity.

 

Mark A Taylor

Mark A. Taylor is a Doctoral Conducting Associate and a student of Eugene Migliaro Corporon at the University of North Texas.  A conductor, educator and performer in demand throughout the Chicago area, Mr. Taylor recently concluded five years as director of bands and coordinator of ensembles at Loyola University Chicago.  He was also a member of the music education faculty for the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University.  Mr. Taylor attended the University of Notre Dame, receiving BA degrees in music and mathematics.  While there, he performed as a percussionist in the Concert Band and Chamber Orchestra; sang in the Liturgical Choir, Collegium Musicum and Men’s Glee Club; served as a cantor in Sacred Heart Basilica; led the Band of the Fighting Irish as drum major; and studied conducting with Walter Ginter and Carl Stam.  After a period working in advertising in Chicago, Mr. Taylor pursued graduate studies at Northwestern University.  His master of music degrees in Instrumental Music Education and Wind Conducting concluded studies with renowned education specialists Bennett Reimer and Peter Webster and conductors John P. Paynter and Stephen Peterson.  Before joining the Music faculty at Loyola University, Mr. Taylor taught band at the elementary, middle school and high school levels in Chicago’s northern suburbs. Bands under his direction have received numerous superior ratings and awards. As a percussionist, Mr. Taylor performed with the Chicago Brass Band, named North American Brass Band Association champion in 2004 and runner-up in 2008.  He and his wife and son reside in Lake Forest, IL.
