Dale Peters, Professor of Music and Interim Associate Dean of the College of Music

B.M., B.A., University of North Texas; Fellowship and Choirmaster certificates, American Guild of Organists; M.A. Musicology, Columbia University; University of Copenhagen.  Peters has a distinguished career as pedagogue and church organist, having studied organ with Helen Hewitt, Searle Wright, Finn Viderø, and Jerald Hamilton. He has been a member of the UNT music faculty since 1959, teaching organ and harpsichord as well as music theory, music history, and church music. In addition to serving for a number of years as Associate Dean of the College of Music, he completed three terms as member of the AGO National Council and Councillor for the Southwest Region. He has been a frequent presenter of workshops and recitals for AGO chapters and conventions, and has performed throughout the United States and in England, France, Denmark, Germany, and the Czech Republic.
