String Project

Through a grant from the American String Teachers Association with National School Orchestra Association, the UNT College of Music initiated the String Project in 2000. UNT string students are provided the opportunity to earn money and valuable teaching experience working with 2nd and 3rd grade students in group class lessons. The master teacher for the String Project is Karrell Johnson, Music Education String Specialist at UNT. He brings a long and distinguished career in string education to this program that offers students a high-level string education experience.
