What some UNT music students have to say about the Practice Center:

I used my practice time more efficiently and was twice as productive in a shorter period of time. The audio/visual capabilities opened my eyes to a world of possibilities concerning technical and musical achievement on my instrument.

Jeffry Eckels, DMA Candidate

The practice audio center is a great source of extra help in day-to-day practice. I can use the camera to see myself when playing, record myself for later review, and most importantly, I can test my improvement in a realistic and artistic manner.

Teresa Rinaldi, Undergraduate Student

I have found the string practice center at UNT to be an irreplaceable tool in my musical training. The ability to play along with piano or orchestral accompaniments gives me a clear indication of possible ensemble or pitch problems BEFORE I meet with my pianist. Technique issues can easily be monitored in real time utilizing the digital camera and large screen television monitor, or recorded for further study later. I have prepared several excellent quality audition CD's in the practice center using the hard disk digital recorder and microphones that are available for all string players. In short, the string practice center at UNT is an excellent resource for all students interested in making their practice time more efficient, comprehensive, and fun.

Craig Butterfield, DMA Candidate

The UNT string practice center has given me the opportunity to improve my practice sessions by using the latest technology to identify issues in my playing that I have not noticed in the practice room, thus, maximizing the quality of my practice time.
