Bach's Mass in B Minor
Lyle Nordstrom, director of Early Music Studies, will be honored at this special performance of Bach's Mass in B Minor. Join us for a unique performance of one of Bach's most esteemed sacred works featuring the Baroque Orchestra and Collegium Singers on Saturday May 1st at 8pm in the Murchison Performing Arts Center.
Chamber Music Program Residency in China
The US Department of State, Cultural Affairs Division awarded the College of Music a federal grant to establish a chamber music program at the South China University of Technology, College of Arts in Guangzhou. The group of four faculty (Gene Cho, Susan Dubois, Nikola Ruzevic, and Terri Sundberg) and six students (Reuben Allred, piano; Ross Gasworth, cello; Szemoke Jobbagy, violin; Michelle Paczut, viola; Seijin (Samuel) Park, violin; and Kelli Quijano, clarinet) left the United States on March 8 for a two-week residency in Beijing and Guangzhou. Verdi's Messa da Requiem
The UNT Symphony Orchestra, conducted by David Itkin, in collaboration with the Grand Chorus, directed by Jerry McCoy will perform Verdi's Requiem for two special concerts. April 18 will be at the Murchison Performing Arts Center and April 19 is an encore presentation at Bass Performance Hall in Fort Worth.
