DMA Lecture: Tzu-yi Liu, Piano

An Analytical Perspective of the New Aesthetic Concepts in Sergey Prokofiev's Choses En Soi, Op. 45

The purpose of this study is to analyze the compositional techniques in Choses en
soi, Opus 45, by Sergey Prokofi ev, and to explore the new aesthetic concepts he
claimed to include in this composition. I will examine compositional elements and
discuss salient characteristics in the work.

It is intended for exceptionally gifted and accomplished performers seeking professional performing careers, but not wishing to engage in academic studies required for a graduate degree program.
