Alejandro Miranda’s career has been exclusively within academia. He now serves the University of North Texas as Director of Piano Services.

After completing a rigorous apprenticeship in piano technology at UNT under former chief technician Lou Tasciotti, who he later served as assistant, Alejandro accepted a keyboard technician position at Baylor University. He then returned to Denton and to UNT serving as the assistant piano technician for nearly 20 years.

His concert technician work has taken him to major concert halls in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex including Fort Worth’s Bass Performance Hall, Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas and Richardson’s Charles W. Eisemann Center.  He has had the pleasure of working for several renowned artist to include Vladimir Feltsman and Helene Grimaud, among others.

Alejandro holds a BM and MM in music theory from UNT. His master’s thesis on historical tunings applications took him to discover the love for early keyboards, in particular the pianoforte. He briefly trained with three European makers on the maintenance of these instruments.
