Dr. Don Taylor serves as coordinator of the PhD program in music education and is an assistant professor at the University of North Texas. As noted above, his first three degrees are in piano performance. While completing his doctoral studies in piano, he began teaching elementary general music in San Antonio, Texas. After teaching nine years in public schools, he pursued a PhD in Music Education at the University of Texas at Austin and certification in Orff Schulwerk instruction.
Dr. Taylor teaches graduate and undergraduate classes with an emphasis in elementary music education. His research interests include elementary instrumental instruction and adult learning. He has presented his work in local, state, national and international venues.
