Dr. Don Taylor is currently Assistant Professor at the University of North Texas. As noted above, his first three degrees are in piano performance. While completing his doctoral studies in piano, he began teaching elementary general music in San Antonio, Texas. After teaching nine years in public schools, he pursued a Ph.D. in Music Education at the University of Texas at Austin and certification in Orff Schulwerk instruction.

Dr. Taylor teaches undergraduate classes with an emphasis in elementary music education including MUED 3100, MUED 1103, and MUED 1140. His prime areas of research include children's singing and teaching effectiveness within Orff Schulwerk instruction. He has presented his work at local, state, and national conventions.
