Philosophy
All children have the potential to be successful with music. In fact, children naturally begin to sing at or before the stage of speech development. However, research has shown that music aptitude (or potential for achievement in music) will decline if children are not exposed to quality musical experiences between birth and age eight.
The focus of the Early Childhood Music Program is to provide children quality experiences that nurture their musical development and provide them the readiness needed for later formal music instruction. Using a sequentially based music curriculum, children will experience a variety of music activities that explore singing, listening, and movement. Some children actively participate while others watch and absorb.
