International Horn Symposium Exhibitors (9 am-5 pm) – horns, music mouthpieces, accessories, recordings, horn souvenirs, and more. See the International Horn Symposium Exhibitor list.

IHS General Meeting (9-10 am) Location TBA

University and Pre-University Horn Quartet Competitions (9 am-noon) – rules and registration form below. Judged by International Horn Symposium Artists and IHS Advisory Council Members.

Alphorn Festspiel led by Peggy DeMers: demonstrations and ensemble rehearsal (10 am-noon)

Lunch break (noon-1:30 pm) Horn Choirs performing in the Union Food Court

Lectures (1:30-2:30 pm) by:
• Texas hornist Dr. Jacquelyn Adams (formerly Jungle Barbie) "Playing Outside the Lines – Creating and Marketing Your Own Horn Niche." (Main Auditorium)
• A Panel Discussion chaired by John Q. Ericson, Arizona State University
“Orchestral Horn Playing 101 – How to Get In and Stay In the Business” (Lyceum)

Performance (3-4 pm): Arkady Shilkloper, Russian Jazz Artist (see his many youtube performances) Main Auditorium

Jasper Rees, UK author of A Devil to Play, discusses his book (4-5 pm) Main Auditorium

World Record Mass Horn and Alphorn Choirs (5-6:30 pm) conducted by International Horn Symposium Artists and Advisory Council Members (Location TBA)

Horn Quartet Competition Prizes and Regulations:

Pre-University Division (Lyceum of the Student Union):
•First Prize: $200 to the winning quartet
•All quartet members must be aged 18 years or under at the time of the performance.
•Quartets members may but are not required to attend the same Texas school.
•The work to be performed must be under 15 minutes in duration.
•Provide one published score and one copy to the judges.

University Division (UNT Main Auditorium):
•First Prize: $200 to the winning quartet
•All quartet members must be aged 26 years under at the time of the performance.
•Quartet members must be from the same Texas university.
•The work to be performed must be under 15 minutes in duration.
•Provide one published score and one copy to the judges.
