Brian Perry

Brian Perry currently serves as a member of the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra and is the double bassist for the Caminos Del Inka Ensemble. He completed his graduate studies at Boston University’s College of Fine Arts. While in Boston, Mr. Perry was a member of the Kalistos Chamber Orchestra and appeared with other ensembles throughout the Boston area, including the Rhode Island Philharmonic, New Hampshire Symphony, and ALEA III, the contemporary music ensemble in residence at Boston University. Mr. Perry has also performed with the Boston Symphony and Cleveland Orchestras. Mr. Perry has appeared as a guest artist in the Van Cliburn Foundation’s Musical Awakenings series for several seasons. His festival appearances include principal double bass of Eastern, Kent/Blossom, and Pacific music festivals as well as the National Orchestral Institute. He has also been a member of the National Repertory Orchestra in Breckenridge, Colorado and a fellow at the Tanglewood Music Center. An active collaborator, Mr. Perry has appeared as guest artist with the Vermeer String Quartet and pianist Natalie Zhu at Bay Chamber Concerts in Rockport, Maine and regularly performs in both the Spectrum Chamber Music series and as a member of the Funkytown All-Stars, an all double-bass quartet based in Fort Worth. Mr. Perry is currently an adjunct instructor of double bass at the University of North Texas and in the summer of 2010 he joined the faculty of Boston University’s Tanglewood Institute. He is a member of the boards of the Texas Camerata and the Bradetich Foundation. Brian and his wife Kathryn, a violinist with the Fort Worth Symphony, and their daughter Madeleine live in Fort Worth, Texas.
