Other Facilities
North & South Music Practice
Music Practice North and Music Practice South, two large practice room buildings across Avenue C from the Music Building, contain rooms with upright pianos, instrumental practice rooms and percussion rooms for individual practice. Students may rent a key for practice facility access each semester. The buildings are open until 11:30PM Sunday through Thursday, and until 2:30AM on Friday and Saturday providing students space and time to practice and perfect their skills.
Music Annex & Bain Hall
The two oldest buildings, the Music Annex and Bain Hall, provide additional instructional and support spaces. At the southern end of the Music Building, the Annex was once an elementary lab school and contains the instrument and piano repair shops, recording services, and many percussion ensemble rehearsal spaces. Bain Hall, named for the first dean of the college, the late Wilfred Bain, provides office space for teaching fellows and assistants and rehearsal space for the renowned UNT Drumline. Bain Hall faces Highland Avenue and is situated between the Music Building and the Murchison Center for the Performing Arts.
